How sure are you that you are climbing the right mountain?
If there’s anything that this COVID has taught me, it’s that you cannot get very far without purpose.
And what is purpose?
Sedopedia:👾
Purpose is the fire💥.
It’s the drive. It’s that tingling that gets you out of bed every morning, it’s that feeling that makes you endure anything, withstand anything, because you know where you’re going and you’re not willing to let anyone stop you.
It’s sprinkles of cold honey on cereal, it’s waterfalls and icicles, it’s swimming on a lake…..you get it right? ;)
Usually, when I’m beat down, and I remember what I have yet to achieve, I dust myself off and will myself to keep moving.
The good thing about purpose is that it will streamline your decisions, and while you might find this boring, in the beginning, or perhaps too basic, you’d realize that purpose helps you go bit by bit and carefully and intentionally put one foot in front of the other.
In a world, where everyone is on the fast lane, you might feel like you’re wasting your time, taking it bite size by bite size. But you're not!
Because you’d realize eventually, that your actions will be well thought out, your choices intentional and your decisions sound.
Truth is, most of us are very talented- you can sing, you can dance, you can write, yet….you feel stuck.
It seems like something's missing.
You're not sure why it's not working even though you're working your head off.
Most times, I’ve realized, it might just be the lack of something very simple: Focus!
Because you see, purpose cannot work in an atmosphere of confusion.
Like any desire, it needs passion and clarity of will.
You could do it all- act, sing, dance…or you could look for just a couple and dedicate your whole attention to them.
You choose!
Instead of spending your whole life doing everything, you could now quite literally, put your eggs in a few baskets and gain mastery.
Because you see,
Purpose pressed down, shaken together and rolling over will birth mastery.
Without this, you will keep being mediocre, at everything.
A jack of all trades, and a master of nothing.
And even though the idea of intentional choosing might be a very unpopular ideology in a world that celebrates versatility, it might just be your missing link.
And in these bleak days, when you feel like not moving, especially in that part of your purpose, when you feel drained and very helpless, MOVE!!
Your decision to take action will pay you in dividends later on.
Keep in my mind what Abraham Lincoln said, “Always bear in mind that your resolution to succeed is more important than any other thing.”
To a week of purposeful moving,
Yours intimately,
Sedo.
On point! You are good at what you do.
Yessss! Move!
