So late last night, my female bullmastiff, Barney, became a mother.
I know!
If at all you follow my updates or read my works, you’ll know how excited I am about my dogs, all four of them.
Sadly, out of the seven puppies, we welcomed only five due to some birth complications.
The world is like a Mask dancing. If you want to see it well, you do not stand in one place

The birth of my pups couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, as in my country, Nigeria, we celebrate the shift of an era.
For about a week now, we’ve heralded the end of a police organization called SARS (The Anti Robbery Squad) who have left terrible wrongs in their wake with their deplorable activities.
And this has gone on for many years!
The focus of their activities ironically, is the harassment of Nigerian youth, usually based on physical appearances or the possession of fancy cars and communication devices.
As a response to these activities, many Nigerian youth have been protesting and speaking up vehemently to put an end to this debacle.
And boy is it a sight to watch!
Yesterday, the Nigerian government set up a new institution SWAT which was set up to replace SARS but this was met by very negative responses.
The thing is, because of the bad record of SARS, many Nigerians want it gone.
Not reformed. Not rehabilitated.
Gone!
And not only are the youth getting support from privately funded international organizations, like the feminist coalition, the hour to hour efforts of the protesters are covered by CNN Africa, BBC and some other media outlets.
And the support on Twitter is fierceee.
In lieu of this I wrote a piece, you could check it here.
But in the meantime, here's an excerpt-
The dawn of change is taking a drink with me.
Tendrils of passion bud within this sepulcher
Where we had our first spark
It’s like fire.
It’s light and salt.
Fiery, my generation stands on the verge of injustice and demand a newness.
They’re writing their requests on the sheets of their voice.
We are in a good place!
To support the movement, check out these hash tags #ENDSARS #ENDSWAT #ENDPOLICEBRUTALITYINNIGERIA.
If you’re in Nigeria and you would like to follow up and see how you can contribute and join in the protests, follow these hash tags too.
Till next week,
Intimately,
Sedo.
It’s one thing to love writing. It’s another to do it with such expertise. I’m just seeing this now Sedo, and beautiful doesn’t do justice❤️.
Your words are always so well crafted, Sedo. And yes, viva la revolucion!
